Further Information: Parmena pubescens feeds on a variety of herbaceous plants such as fig trees and oleander, occasionally being found in shrubs and trees namely dead stalks of Euphorbia species (spurges) and dried-out fennel stalks. Nocturnal. The photographed specimen in this profile was found in wide gaps between bulbs of Allium commutatum and soil around.It has a body length of 6 - 10 mm, and most active in Spring and Summer. The hairy cuticle is a distinctive feature for the species. |
